Shelley

Introduced at the time when Wileman and Co changed their name to Shelleys, and in 1926 "The Shelley Girl" was commissioned exclusively for advertising use by the company to be displayed in their retail stores in the UK. She was originally modelled by one of the team of Smedley Services (W.H.Smedley's advertising company who worked for Shelley). She demonstrated to the public how fashionable and stylish tea drinking could be, particularly when using Shelley bone china ware. 'As Fine As Fine China Can Be'. 30 cms. high. Green Shelley shield stamp to base. With a professional invisible restoration to cup and saucer in excellent condition.

Rare Foley Intarsio Humidor 15cm. high. Hand decorated with smoking scenes. Original E.P.N.S Presentation lid with RAF Laurel Wreath. Foley Intarsio factory mark to base with registration number. In good condition.

Shelley, Hilda Cowham designed Beach Tent teaset c. 1928. Comprising Tent teapot and cover in the smaller size; Pail sugar basin and Shell cream jug. All pieces have H Cowham signature and the Green Shelley shield with model no.726181 printed to base. A rare and complete set in good condition.

Mabel Lucie Attwell Trio. c.1930; with the rhyme "Fairy Folk With Tiny Wings Playing All Over The Plates And Things"; with a turquoise border, this is one of the earlier designs in this range of nurseryware, and quite a rare set. Shelley Green shield to bases and Mabel Lucie Attwell signature printed. the set is in very good condition.

Foley Intarsio vases c.1910. Decorated with stylised flora after Frederick Rhead. 23cms. high, Shelley shield Intarsio factory stamps to base; it is unusual to get a matching pair in very good condition. Priced for the pair.

Shelly ware Mode shape Green Blocks pattern trio, designed by Eric Slater. Comprising bone china teacup with matching saucer and side plate. In excellent condition.

Shelly ware 'Eve' shape Lemonade set. Comprising a jug 18 cms. high and four beakers. Decorated with Lemons on the branch and edged in Yellow and Green. Shelley green factory mark to bases. There is a tight hairline to one beaker otherwise the set is in excellent condition, and a quite rare Shelley set.

Mabel Lucie Attwell designed Trio with teacup and saucer and plate; c. 1940's. With the rhyme "Look at the fairies, how fast they can fly! But they cannot catch us as we flash by." Signed Mabel Lucie Atwell with the Shelley shield stamp to bases. The teaset is in excellent condition.
